Chopin Prelude No.6 arr. for 5 piece brass ensemble
Arrangement of the beautiful Prelude No.6 for 2 Horns, Flugelhorn, Tenor Tuba and Bass Tuba
$7.50
Description
Why this Prelude? On entering music college 45 years ago I was faced with having to learn the piano and not even knowing where middle C was situated…eek! Two years later I performed this Prelude.
In this arrangement the left hand theme is taken by the Bass Tuba with the Tenor Tuba interlinking for some of the higher notes and to reinforce the pathos of the falling phrases towards the end of the piece. The right hand swaps around between horns and flugelhorn with high range of the horn being used to accentuated the minor feeling of the piece.Â
Perhaps one performance note might be that players of the supporting instruments need to be very careful not to use too much hard tonguing!
