Over the hills for Beginning Band

Over the hills is an original work for beginning band (grade 0.5).

Inspired by the title of a work by famous composer Percy Grainger, Over the hills depicts the nice long walk of a group of children in the countryside. The march character of the piece reflects how motivated are the young ones, as will be the young musicians who will play it in one of their first concerts.

The work contains an alternate part for horn (lower range), and trombone (nothing past after 4th position).

Composed for beginning band by Alexandre CARLIN. Grade 0.5. All instruments parts provided: flute, oboe, bassoon, Bb clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, Bb trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, mallets, timpani, percussion 1&2. Duration: 2:15. 16 pages score. 24 pages of parts.
