Description
Allegro is a one-movement work just under 3 minutes in length. Featuring the traditional string trio of violin, viola, and cello, the music moves through three keys and uses 4/4 and 2/4 meter. Between each melodic section is a repeated descending transition phrase. Multiple stops, a variety of textures, and contrasting dynamics provide for a lightly energetic and serene piece.
