Description
Scored for Six C Flutes, Raising The Flag is intended to be used for something special such as a Parade, March, Fanfare Event indeed anything which requires a strong solid March-like rhythm.
It is happy piece and has bright crisp rhythms with plenty of articulation which supports the style. The middle section features a change of key to create variety, and this section has more legato phrasing work to provide further interest before returning to the opening theme. As with most of my compositions, I’ve tried to give each instrument areas of interest and melodic line. The piece has been set to early intermediate as the rhythms are not too tricky and the ranges are quite acceptable.

The piece is around 5mins 30 in length and would be a great addition to a repertoire as it can be used any time of year when there’s an event.
