Description
Scored for Eb Clarinet, 4 Bb Clarinets, Alto, Bass and Contrabass Clarinet. Nowhere to hide written in concert C minor is a very exciting piece depicting a pusuit of a person on the run rather like the subjects in some crime novels. After a short introduction the mood and pace to are set to signify the chase.
The first section has lots of syncopated rhythms to keep the urgency alive and is punctuated by stabs and accents as it drives forward unrelenting to the middle section. The middle section is calmer and more lyrical to represent a hiding place for the subject, however, as noises are heard the chase is back on and a return of the first section begins with a flourish to end.
Intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitabilty.
It is 5 mins 25 in length.
