Description
A Glimpse of Heaven is a gentle, lyrical composition. I wanted the piece to be simple but full of grace and charm with a strong melodic line. It commences with an 8 bar introduction leading into the main theme which goes on for further development. At the end of this section there is a change to an unrelated key which offers an interesting harmonic direction. This brings in new motifs and ideas taking It to a climax, before returning to the main theme having a slightly different treatment.
The piece ends very gently as it fades to a whisper. I have set it to Intermediate level. It is 4.45 minutes in length and the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.
It would be ideal for church services- procession, reflection, contemplation, communion, registry signing etc or indeed as a concert or recital piece.
