Charles Wesley wrote the lyrics to this hymn to mark his Christian conversion on Pentecost, 1738.  Although other melodies are associated with the hymn, Thomas Campbell’s melody (Sagina) is the one heard most often.  Appropriate for Concert or Sacred occasions throughout the Liturgical year:  Lent, Easter, Mercy, Adult Baptism, Praise, Worship.
