“Bent El Shabaliya” (The Pretty Girl)
is a very old tune that appears first in Egypt with the great singer Daoud Hosni, then adapted by Rahbani Brothers and performed by Feyrouz in Lebanon. A very joyful song, with a dancing mood, describes how much a lover loves his beautiful beloved one with green eyes like the color of (لوز), and how he waited for her under the (قناطر) that’s a trend mark of the old Lebanese houses, and how difficult for her to not come and meet him.
