Description
This music was originally composed as early as 1996 but only completed in 2020 for Orchestra. It combines two early themes of mine as a descriptive march-like piece about an approaching storm at sea. The ominous atmosphere builds from the first few bars on the lower strings with a couple of climaxes throughout the piece – it then dies away with the sun breaking through in the final bar with the music in a major key.
There is also a version for Concert Band.
