Description
3 pieces that tell part of the history of Queen Mary of England.Â
1. Three Blind Mice:
Not a cheery tale but one of sadness. Imagine 3 Protestants being led to their doom.
2. March: Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary (Purcell) –
This was originally the funeral march at Queen Mary’s funeral, but here I have used it to Â
represent the solemn authority of the Queen.
3. Mary, Mary Quite Contrary
One by one they march to the maiden (Guillotine), and become part of the
Queen’s ‘Garden’. Here we start with a solemn slow march and end up being
the children’s song that is popular today.
