A piece for oboe and piano about the Tasmanian native hen. The Tasmanian native hen is also known as the ‘turbo chook’. They are a flightless bird that has red, rather beady, scary eyes. They can also run quite fast, which of course they need to be able to do considering they are flightless. I have a family of native hens that regularly appear on my property. This piece is dedicated to them.
