Description
Théodore Dubois (1837–1924), director of the Paris Conservatoire and a master of refined sacred music, composed his Cantilène Religieuse in 1898 as part of the Seven Pieces for Organ. Originally intended for liturgical use, this gentle cantilena embodies Dubois’ gift for lyrical melody and devotional atmosphere. In this brass sextet arrangement, the flowing lines and warm harmonies are brought to life with rich sonorities, making it a perfect choice for both concert performance and sacred settings.
