A lovely and unusual Christmas carol,
not often sung in the UK. It’s a beautiful, simple melody with plain
accompaniment, here set for wind quintet. This work is by Paul
Gerhardt, a little-known contemporary of Bach and Handel.

In the third verse, I have added a ‘descant part’ for Piccolo.
Parts are supplied for Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Horn in F and Bassoon.
