Description

Peter Christian Lutkin (1858–1931) was an influential American organist, choral conductor, and composer. Lutkin wrote over sixty-five choral anthems, thirty hymn tunes, and numerous songs for children. His most enduring work is the sacred benediction The Lord Bless You and Keep You. He also co-edited Methodist hymnals and served as musical editor for the Methodist Sunday-School Hymnal. Lutkin’s legacy lives on in the continued prominence of collegiate a cappella choirs and his contributions to American church music.
