LUIGI CHERUBINI | Ave Maria | for Bb, C and B.C. Brass Instruments
Luigi Cherubini (1760–1842) was a pivotal figure straddling the Classical and Romantic eras, admired by Beethoven and later Brahms for his mastery of form and expressive depth. Though Italian by birth, Cherubini spent most of his career in France, where he became a leading composer of opera and sacred music, and eventually director of the Paris Conservatory.
Cherubini’s Ave Maria is a sacred hymn. Though not as widely known as Schubert’s or Gounod’s settings, Cherubini’s version is notable for its Classical clarity, lyrical restraint, and devotional sincerity.
Parts Included: Piano, Trumpet/Cornet/Flugel in Bb, Trumpet/Cornet in C, Trombone, Trombone (Tenor Clef), Euphonium/Baritone T.C.
