Description
Edward Bunnett (1834–1923) was an English composer, organist, and educator. His compositions span sacred and secular genres, including cantatas, anthems, organ works, and part-songs. Notable sacred pieces include De Profundis, Out of the Deep, and settings of the Te Deum and Venite. He also wrote hymn tunes such as Kirby Bedon, St. Gregory, and New Year Morn, many of which appeared in Victorian hymnals. Bunnett’s music reflects a blend of Romantic expressiveness and Anglican tradition, often characterized by warm harmonies and lyrical phrasing.
