Blue Vibes Music is an independent, boutique record label based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.  It is a registered, Sole Trader, after-hours small business, for which Makayla Ryan is the Proprietor.  It is a Blue Vibes Music is a 100% Australian-owned, 100% female-owned and 100% Veteran-owned business.

Makayla is a Lyricist, Composer, Pianist, Vocalist, Author and Comedian.

In Melbourne, Makayla undertook classical piano lessons from the age of 7 to 14 years.  Through the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) Victoria, Makayla completed three piano exams – Preliminary Grade (achieved an A), Grade 1 (achieved an A) and Grade 2 (achieved a B+).  Bored with learning Classical pieces, Makayla switched to learning popular pieces for one year.  Makayla has little ability to sight-read piano print music.  She plays by ear.  She can hear a song once or twice and play it, with the melody, bass notes and some chords.  She has thousands of songs in her head.  With a little practice, she can “pull out” a song and play it.

Makayla has a Bachelor of Arts, with Majors in Business and Music and Minors in Economics and Music.  She started composing on the piano at the age of 12 years.  She studied composing and arranging in one High School Music subject and two University Music subjects. Makayla is an Award-Winning Singer/Song-Writer.  She achieved First Place in the 2018 Sydney Eisteddfod Singer/Song-Writer Contest with the performance of her original Musical Theatre song, ‘Planting Kisses’ (composed n 2015).  It is expected that this song will be released as a Music Single in late 2026.

For each Music Single released on the Blue Vibes Music label, Makayla will release at least one corresponding Print Music product.  In most cases, this will be a Lead Sheet, a Vocal arrangement, and a Flex Band arrangement.
