When Peace Like A River – Brass Band [A-Flat to B-Flat] Score and Parts PDF
A useful arrangement for Brass Band. Key of  Ab to Bb in the last verse. This tune was composed by Philip Paul Bliss (1838-76); an American writer of hymns and a Gospel singer. In the 2nd verse, the melody is taken up by the Baritones and Trombones in a very easy comfortable range. The Descant part is played in the 3rd Verse at the change of key; A flourish of Cornets and Horns finishes with a rousing climax in the final chords. This is an exceptional arrangement of a great hymn. In the US, we know it as “It is Well with My Soul” or more often “It is Well”. Brendan’s arrangement of this is stirring and beautiful (really strong tuba line). My group, Sons of Jubal Brass, put into our rotation for five years as we performed all over the state Georgia in Baptist churches. Brendan’s piece has been heard by over 10,000 worshippers here and almost made it into our Royal Albert Hall appearance (but that’s another story). At the time I purchased this, the cost was AS$5 ($4 US)and he sent me a US/Canada version for F horns and bass clef for low brass. Best investment I’ve ever made in buying music.
