Description
A Glimpse of Heaven is a gentle, lyrical composition. I wanted the piece to be simple but full of grace and charm with a strong melodic line which can be shared among the instruments its written for. It commences with an 8 bar introduction leading into the main theme which develops across the instruments. At the end of this section there is a change to an unrelated key which offers an interesting harmonic direction. This brings in new motifs and ideas taking It to a climax, before returning to the main theme having a slightly different treatment. The piece ends very gently as it fades to a whisper.
I have set it to Intermediate level based upon key and range, but an early intermediate player may be ok with it. It is 4.45 minutes in length and the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability
It would be ideal for church services- procession, reflection, contemplation, communion, registry signing etc or indeed as a concert or recital piece.
