Wind Choir – Soave sia il Vento
A setting of this beautiful and famous terzettino from the first act of Cosi fan tutte for woodwind choir.
The instrumentation comprises two groups: the ‘singers’ (Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon) and the accompaniment (2 Fl, 2 Cl, 2 Hn, Bassoon and Contra).
This song is where Dorabella and Fiordiligi are wishing their fiancees good luck on their journey to war aboard a ship. The music was also made famous by its inclusion in the film Amadeus – a romaticised telling of the enmity between Mozart and Salieri.
