Description
Each of us will at some time experience situations of grief and sadness. Lament for String Quartet is in the key of A Minor, and the heartfelt melody frequently lands on pitches which are dissonant. First and second violins play the majority of the melodic material, while the lower parts are somewhat stubborn, like problems that can’t be resolved. Melodic material at rehearsal “F” (viola) represents sobbing. This composition was inspired by personal grief. It is very suitable as music for quiet reflection during Lent, as well as for concert and recital performance.
