Description: This is an arrangement of the choral and instrumental piece of this name. To hear the original composition, use either Haydn or Schneider. It can be played at any time of the year as a church voluntary, or if at a slower tempo, as contemplative background music.

The arrangement comes from the choral and organ motet, Parvulus Filius composed by Johann Schneider (1786-1853). He was a pupil of Bach and later became a prolific composer of operas, masses, six oratorios, 25 cantatas, 23 symphonies, 7 piano concertos, and a great many other instrumental works.

Parvulus Filius is usually and wrongly attributed to Joseph Haydn.
