Description

This song for a 3-part a Capella choir or three solo singers tells the story of how Scat the Cat discovered that climbing up a ladder can lead to having to make a hasty downward retreat to avoid being attacked by a swarm of angry wasps. The poem and music were written by Ellie Hallett.

Scat the Cat is also suitable as a 3-part treble clef instrumental piece.

This music and words of this song are a lot of fun, written in an interweaving  close-harmony style. It incorporates key changes, staccato notes, smooth lyrical phrasing and a variety of rhythms. The highest note for the top vocal line is Bb above the staff. Lowest note is G below middle C for the third vocal line.
