Description
Witches Flight is a wonderful work originally written by H M Russell in 1875. The piece is written in the form of a Caprice Galop. It would make a wonderful Halloween performance piece. Originally published a piano solo and then later adapted to a duet, this enjoyable work has now been adapted for Full Orchestra. This work was a favourite work of Piano Teachers and Student for much of the 19th and 20th Century.
My orchestral version is dedicated to my dear friend William Kolln, who passed away in 2021. We spent a lot of time talking about and writing music, and it was he who first suggested I arrange this piece. He reminisced with me about the many hours he had spent learning and playing it with his piano teacher in his youth. So on the one-year anniversary of his passing and in the season of Halloween 2022, I present this great work for full Orchestra.
